what matters
I’ve led engineering teams from early-stage startups to Inc. 5000 companies - shipping products from first commit to successful 2× exit (Alpine Software Group - 2019, Insight Integrity - 2025). Most of that experience was built working remotely for US-based companies. Today I lead engineering across two SaaS platforms while running TopNotchProgrammer as a focused studio for clients who need senior-level craft without the overhead of an agency.
My current work sits at the intersection of product engineering and AI - retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, and cloud infrastructure optimised for real operational load. I’ve cut cloud costs by 30% without sacrificing performance, and the engineers I hired years ago are still shipping with me today.
